While at Sam Poh Tong, do buy vegetables and breadcrumbs from the ladies outside the temple to feed the fishes and tortoises.

Utilizing nature's finest, the Sam Poh Tong temple was built in 1912 by Buddhist monks within the crevices of the mountain. It has then be refurbished for tourism. You'll see a pagoda, lake where you can feed the fishes, walk through a cool cave and meet plenty tortoises.

The stairs to the top of Perak Tong closes around 4pm as it may be too dark to walk after that.

Another limestone cave temple, Perak Tong houses about 40 Buddha statues, with one over 12.8 meters high! The attraction factor lies in the steep climb (staircases, don't worry!) through the cave to a vantage point where you can see the city's view. En route, check out the cave drawings.
