Dexcom G6 CGM users in Singapore can see glucose levels and trends at a glance, even while working out.


People with diabetes can now view their Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) data on their Garmin smartwatch or cycling computer

Singapore, 27 March 2025 – Garmin Singapore today announced expanded region availability of the Dexcom Connect IQ apps, providing people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes who use a Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System1 with a way to quickly see their glucose levels and trends – even while working out – right on their compatible Garmin smartwatch or cycling computer2. The apps can be downloaded now from the Connect IQ store.

According to latest data provided by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Diabetes Atlas (2021), diabetes affects one in ten adults in Singapore and is expected to rise by 46 per cent, with one in eight adults living with diabetes by 2045.

In a survey findings from a partnership study between the NUS Lloyd’s Register Foundation Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk (IPUR) and Diabetes Singapore which were published in the “Diabetes Perception” report in 2024, nearly 40 per cent of 1,000 survey participants have pre-diabetes and without any lifestyle changes, at least 35 per cent of persons with pre-diabetes in Singapore will progress to Type 2 Diabetes over eight years.

The Dexcom Connect IQ apps, developed by Garmin, with use on Garmin devices encourages users to be more active while making it easy for people with diabetes to keep an eye on their glucose numbers at any time to better care for their health and fitness.

During the Day

Available for a wide range of Garmin smartwatches including the latest fēnix 8 series and Edge 1050 premium cycling computer, the Dexcom Connect IQ app3 provides people with diabetes with a secondary way to view their glucose levels, right from their wrist. With their smartphone stowed away4, the app allows people with diabetes to see glucose levels and trends to get a clearer picture of where their numbers are heading, as well as a 3-hour history of glucose levels to look back on.

During an Activity

While out for a run, bike ride or other adventure, the Dexcom Connect IQ data field3 provides people with diabetes with a secondary way to view both their glucose levels and performance stats all in one place, so they can focus more on their workout. When training or racing with a compatible smartwatch or Edge cycling computer, users can keep an eye on their glucose levels and trends, as well as their performance data, right on their Garmin device without pulling out their smartphone4,5.
