Built in 1900, this temple is a grand architectural piece that features the influences of Thai, Chinese, Malay and Indian cultures. The temple is most famous for the 180-foot gold-plated statue of the reclining Buddha, Pra Buddhachaiya Mongkul, which is said to be one of the longest in the world.

Masjid Terapung (Floating Mosque) is the first of its kind to be built on the sea. Other floating mosques in Malaysia are built amidst lakes.

Contrary to common initial misconception, Masjid Terapung isn’t actually floating. In fact, it’s built on pilings and stilts. Covering the area of 1295 meters square, this mosque has a towering minaret that is 7-storeys high. This mosque is also equipped with a spacious parking area that accommodates circa 250 cars.
